Established in June 2021, the College of Integrated Circuits at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) aims to develop a world-class center for innovation and talent cultivation in the field of integrated circuits, with a particular focus on aerospace applications. Following over two years of advancement, the college was officially inaugurated and commenced independent operations in December 2023.

In 2010, the college introduced an undergraduate program in Microelectronic Science and Engineering. Subsequently, in 2019, a professional doctoral program in Electronic Information was established. In 2021, it obtained approval for a master's program in Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering at the first level of discipline. Most recently, in 2024, it secured approval for a doctoral program at the same level in Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering. This progression culminates in the establishment of a comprehensive talent development framework encompassing undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels.

The college is committed to establishing key national and provincial and ministerial-level laboratories and strives to create high-level platforms for teaching, scientific research, and innovation.

It boasts the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) Key Laboratory of Aerospace Integrated Circuits and Microsystems and the MIIT Industry-Education Collaboration Base for Integrated Circuits. It has jointly established the National Key Laboratory of Microwave Photonics (Tianyuan Laboratory).

The college has developed distinctive research directions in emerging computing chips, radio frequency and mixed-signal integrated circuits, optoelectronic integration, semiconductor measurement equipment, and novel semiconductor devices.

In recent years, the college has undertaken an array of major national research projects, including the National Key Research and Development Program and Key Support Project of the Major Research Plan under the National Natural Science Foundation of China. The college has received over 10 teaching awards at the national and provincial levels, as well as several scientific honors.

Adopting a multi-tiered international approach of joint cultivation, short-term exchanges, and collaborative research, the college collaborates with leading global institutions such as Queen’s University Belfast, University of Bristol, National University of Singapore, and City University of Hong Kong.

These partnerships foster academic exchanges, research cooperation, and international talent development, supporting the rapid evolution of integrated circuit technologies.
