The School of Marxism at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) was founded on April 28, 2015. The school was formerly known as the Marxist-Leninist Teaching and Research Office in the early days since the university's establishment in the 1950s. Today, it plays a crucial role in educating around 39,000 undergraduates, master's, and doctoral students in ideological and political studies, Marxist theory discipline construction, and graduate student training.
As a key institution for Marxist studies in Jiangsu province, the school has the authority to grant doctoral degrees in the second-level discipline of basic principles of Marxist and master's degrees in the first-level discipline of Marxist theory. It has established various research platforms, such as the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Network Space Public Security Research Center, and the NUAA base for the Jiangsu Province Research Center for the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
Among the school’s faculty members are delegates to the 19th and 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Changjiang Scholars, national distinguished and model teachers, and recipients of the National May 1 Labor Medals.
