The College of Computer Science and Technology at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) was established in November 2010 with roots dating back to the "Computing Devices" program founded in 1959, one of China's earliest computer science disciplines.
In 2020, NUAA established the College of Software, which operates under a unified administrative framework akin to that of the College of Computer Science and Technology.
The college boasts three first-level doctoral programs with corresponding postdoctoral research stations: Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, and Cyberspace Security.
Computer Science and Technology, and Software Engineering are Jiangsu provincial superior disciplines. Software Engineering is also a key discipline of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Military Software is a featured national defense discipline.
The college houses several key research platforms:
- Ministry of Education (MOE) Key Laboratory of Brain-Computer Intelligent Technology
- MIIT Key Laboratory of High-Security System Software Development and Verification Technology
- MIIT Key Laboratory of Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence
The college has four departments: Computer Science and Engineering, Software Science and Engineering, Network and Information Security, and Artificial Intelligence and Interdisciplinary Applications.
It offers four undergraduate programs: Computer Science and Technology, Information Security, Software Engineering, and Internet of Things Engineering, all recognized as National First-Class Specialty Construction Projects.
The college places a strong emphasis on advancing internationalization in education. In recent years, it has invited renowned domestic and international professors and experts to deliver over 100 academic lectures for faculty and students.
The institution has established enduring partnerships with several esteemed universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. These collaborations encompass joint graduate dual-degree programs, integrated bachelor's-to-master's programs, student exchange initiatives, and faculty academic exchanges.
The college has established an outstanding reputation for cultivating graduates with rigorous academic training and well-rounded professional competencies, as evidenced by their exemplary employment outcomes.
Over its six-decade history, the college has educated more than 5,400 bachelor's degree recipients and 2,000 postgraduate scholars, many of whom have attained distinguished career achievements.
