The College of Automation Engineering at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) was established in 1952, when the university was founded. Through the consistent efforts of generations of faculty members, the college has grown into a multidisciplinary teaching and research community with wide-ranging influence in fields such as automatic control, navigation guidance, electrical and motor engineering, and measurement and instrumentation.
It currently consists of four departments, one research institute, and two centers – the Department of Automatic Control, the Department of Electrical Engineering, the Department of Measurement Engineering, the Department of Biomedical Engineering; the Flight Control Research Institute; and the Electronics Technology Center and Electrical Engineering Technology Center.
The college's pillar disciplines are Control Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Instrumentation Science and Technology, all of which offer doctoral programs and meet the demand of the global development of advanced science and technologies. The discipline of Control Science and Engineering has been selected as a national key discipline of the "Double First-Class Initiative".
To promote the "Double First-Class Initiative", the college will take measures to comprehensively promote reform, continuously improve its educational standards, and strive to become a world-class automation engineering college in the field of aeronautics and astronautics.
