The State Key Laboratory of Air Traffic Management System was established in 2023 with the approval of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
This laboratory has garnered recognition from various authoritative bodies, including: The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), which designated it as a "Key Innovative Team in Civil Aviation Technology", CAAC's Air Traffic Management Office, which recognized it as the "China Civil Aviation Flight Schedule Management Research Center" and a "White List Unit for Airport Capacity Evaluation", the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, acknowledging it as the "Joint Laboratory for International Cooperation on Air Traffic Safety Control", the CAAC's Air Traffic Management Bureau, which designated it the "Laboratory for Airspace Assessment Technology", the Department of Transport of Jiangsu Province, naming it the "Jiangsu Airspace Research Base".
The laboratory is dedicated to fundamental theoretical research, exploration of cutting-edge technologies, major application innovations, and high-quality technology consulting and incubation. Its research includes various fields such as air traffic flow management, airspace and airport planning and evaluation, civil aviation operational performance assessment, low-altitude aviation and drone control, navigation positioning and spatiotemporal perception, as well as intelligent air traffic.
In recent years, it has been awarded one Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Awards, six first prizes for provincial and ministerial-level science and technology awards, 23 provincial and ministerial-level science and technology progress awards, and more than 10 science and technology progress awards by the industry associations.
