Professor Zi-Qiang Zhu, fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and professor at the University of Sheffield, embarked on a visit to Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) recently, during which he was appointed as an honorary professor of NUAA.
Jiang Bin, president of NUAA, presented Zhu with the honorary professorship certificate and adorned him with the NUAA emblem at the appointment ceremony.
Jiang said that Zhu and his team have long provided substantial support to NUAA in scientific research, talent cultivation, and academic exchanges. He expressed hope that Zhu would leverage his exceptional academic influence and international leadership to further contribute insights and infuse more intellectual vigor into NUAA's high-quality development.
Zhu expressed deep honor at being appointed as NUAA's honorary professor. He noted that his prior collaborations with the university in electrical engineering had yielded fruitful results and established a solid foundation for today.
He pledged to deepen comprehensive cooperation with NUAA in an effort to drive the electrical engineering discipline toward higher-quality development and facilitate groundbreaking advancements in the field.
Following the ceremony, Zhu joined faculty and student representatives in planting a commemorative tree.
As an internationally renowned expert in electrical engineering, Zi-Qiang Zhu holds the position of professor at the University of Sheffield. His distinguished accolades include RAEng fellow, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers fellow, Institution of Engineering and Technology fellow, and the distinction of being the first and only foreign fellow of the China Electrotechnical Society.
This appointment marks a strategic milestone in elevating NUAA's electrical engineering discipline to new heights while bolstering international collaboration and advancing the university's global academic profile.
