Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) and Dassault Systèmes signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation on March 27 to foster deeper collaboration between industry, academia, and research, as well as to broaden the internationalization of outstanding engineering education.
Wang Dongning, director of Nanjing municipal investment promotion bureau, highlighted the city's commitment to integrating global innovation resources. As a worldwide leader in industrial software, Dassault Systèmes' cutting-edge technological concepts and extensive practical experience are essential for the city's industrial transformation and innovative development.
The strategic collaboration between Dassault Systèmes and NUAA not only serves as a model for university-enterprise cooperation but also represents a significant achievement for Nanjing in advancing industry-education integration and international partnership, added Wang.
Phillippe Laufer, executive vice-president of global brand at Dassault Systèmes, said that the company's commitment to establishing a global practical platform for students at NUAA, expanding collaborative opportunities in the aerospace sector, foster advancements in innovative technologies, develop high-end talent models, and support the comprehensive training of exceptional engineers.
Shi Daning, vice-president and dean of National Graduate College for Elite Engineers at NUAA, highlighted that Dassault Systèmes has been cultivating a local digital talent ecosystem through university-enterprise collaboration, which aligns deeply with the university's educational strengths and the cultivation framework of National Graduate College for Elite Engineers.
This collaboration will advance the development of the university's disciplines and specialties and provide innovative pathways for fostering the international competencies of outstanding engineers, added Shi.
Guo Yu, deputy dean of National Graduate College for Elite Engineers at NUAA, and Samson Khaou, global executive vice-president and president of Asia-Pacific at Dassault Systèmes, signed the memorandum on behalf of both parties, committing to in-depth cooperation in talent cultivation and discipline development, technological innovation and application, as well as academic exchange and innovation.
