The Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics appointed Professor Ramon Costa-Castello from the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya in Spain as a visiting professor on July 24.
Costa-Castello is also a member of the International Federation of Automatic Control Technical Committees and holds senior membership in the IEEE Control Systems Society. Possessing extensive academic expertise in systems and automation engineering, he is well-known for his influential research in energy management technologies.
During the appointment ceremony, Costa-Castello conveyed his enthusiasm for increasing academic exchanges and research collaboration with NUAA.
During his time at NUAA, Costa-Castello gave a series of academic lectures that connected innovative research with real-world applications. His talks provided students and faculty with new perspectives and encouraged engaging discussions.
Huang Zhiqiu, vice-president of NUAA, highlighted that UPC is a major strategic partner for NUAA. The two institutions have established strong groundwork for cooperation in education, research, and industry-academia collaboration. They plan to strengthen their partnership further through joint laboratories, faculty and student exchanges, and collaborative innovation initiatives. Costa-Castello's appointment is anticipated to provide fresh momentum to this ongoing collaboration.
