Leaders from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics visited the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology on Feb 26 to discuss key areas of cooperation for the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30).

The delegation was led by NUAA Party Secretary Zhen Liang and President Jiang Bin. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed their existing collaboration and explored ways to further strengthen partnerships in aerospace research, technology development and talent cultivation.

Wang Bolan, Party secretary of the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, said the two institutions have already achieved fruitful cooperation in cutting-edge fields such as spacecraft design and propulsion systems. They have also established several high-level innovation platforms.

Wang noted that the academy hopes NUAA will continue to contribute in areas such as fundamental research, frontier technological innovation and the training of high-level aerospace professionals.

She added that deeper collaboration in fields such as space technology and space energy will help accelerate the upgrading of aerospace equipment.

Jiang called for stronger cooperation in jointly building research platforms, undertaking major projects, cultivating talent and sharing scientific achievements.

The meeting highlighted the shared goal of advancing industry-university-research collaboration to support China's growing space technology sector.
