Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics signed a cooperation agreement with the UK-based High Achiever Programme (HAP) on April 8, marking a new step in advancing international education collaboration.

The signing ceremony was held at NUAA's Minggugong campus. Under the agreement, the university will establish an HAP Programme Center, which is set to begin enrolling students from the Scottish Qualifications Authority Advanced Diploma (SQA AD) programme this September.

The two sides will carry out comprehensive cooperation in areas including talent cultivation, academic exchange, faculty training, and short-term programs.

Cui Haitao, vice-president of NUAA, noted that the SQA AD programme was introduced to China in 2003 through cooperation between the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange and the Scottish Qualifications Authority. NUAA joined the programme in 2009 and over the past 17 years has sent thousands of students to overseas universities for further study.

Professor Steven McGuire, vice-chancellor of the University of East Anglia, highlighted that the HAP brings together top-tier UK higher education resources and is committed to providing high-quality academic pathways for Chinese students.

He expressed hope that closer cooperation with NUAA would help build a model for China-UK educational collaboration and nurture globally competitive talents with a strong cultural grounding.
