The launch ceremony of the 2026 National Research Assistant Recruitment Program was held at the Minggugong Campus of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics on June 23, bringing together employers from enterprises, research institutes and universities across China, as well as graduating students seeking research-related career opportunities.
The event aims to strengthen connections between talent cultivation, scientific research and industrial innovation.
In his address, He Yaqiong, Party secretary of NUAA, emphasized the strategic significance of developing positions for research assistants. He noted that the initiative helps bridge the innovation chain linking industry, academia, research and application, while cultivating a reserve of high-level talent for the country's future development.
Wang Nannan, general manager of Xiaomi Group's Nanjing Regional Headquarters, said the company has maintained a long-term partnership with NUAA, with cooperation extending from computer science to emerging fields such as smart vehicles. Over the past three years, Xiaomi has jointly launched an Engineer Training Camp with 15 universities from around the nation, helping cultivate more than 6,000 technical talents. Wang expressed hope that the event would inspire more outstanding graduates to join the company and contribute to technological innovation.
