Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics has introduced Muxing College, creating a new approach to undergraduate education that encourages personalized development and exploration.
Established in 2025, Muxing College integrates four departments. By breaking down traditional barriers between schools and disciplines, the college offers students broader opportunities to pursue individual interests while developing a well-rounded academic foundation.
One of its standout features is a flexible major transfer policy. From the first to the third year, undergraduates are eligible to apply to change majors up to four times. The university has removed conventional restrictions such as academic ranking, failed-course limits, and admission categories, making students' interests, aptitude, and potential the primary criteria for transfer.
Beyond the classroom, Muxing College encourages experiential learning through hands-on innovation and interdisciplinary training. Students can join project-based research classes where they design autonomous vehicles, develop software, and write algorithms. They also have opportunities to strengthen practical engineering skills through circuit-building projects, participate in mathematical modeling challenges, and explore career planning.

The college also places strong emphasis on developing leadership, communication and critical thinking. A wide range of interdisciplinary workshops, student organizations, sports clubs and cultural activities help students build confidence and broaden perspectives.
Located at NUAA's Tianmuhu Campus, Muxing College offers a modern, student-centered living environment. Covered walkways connect dormitories, teaching buildings and dining halls, while the residential area includes supermarkets, bookstores, cafes and convenience stores. Four-person dormitories are equipped with private bathrooms, hot water, drinking water systems and smart management facilities.
Students also have access to a 9,400-square-meter community featuring more than 100 functional spaces, including counseling rooms, fitness facilities, and sports fields, that offer comprehensive support for students' academic, personal, and social development.
