As the new academic year began, He Yaqiong, Party secretary of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), delivered the first class to over 10,000 freshmen on Sept 11, encouraging the students to shoulder their missions and write an excellent chapter on the path toward national rejuvenation.

He reflected on the university's glorious history and traditions, calling on the students to embody a spirit of inquiry and a deep-seated commitment to societal well-being.

He offered three practical guides to the new students: First, anchor their development in sound planning and proactive charting of their academic and personal growth. Second, build strength through action by honing academic, innovative, and personal skills. Third, realize their value by aligning personal goals with national needs and focusing on areas where they can make significant contributions.

His speech sparked enthusiastic discussions among students on life goals, career development, and study methods. Li Yuheng, a freshman from the university's Changkong College, said, "This lecture nourished my dreams and strengthened my resolve to develop true skills. I am determined to set great ambitions and contribute to Chinese modernization."

Fu Yuqing, a student from the university's Muxing College, said: "The first lecture illuminates my path at NUAA, clarifying the direction of my university journey and offering me a renewed understanding of my mission and responsibilities."

The vibrant atmosphere underscored the students' eagerness to embark on their academic journeys with purpose and determination.
