A delegation led by Alberto Sapora, vice rector for international affairs at the Politecnico di Torino, visited Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics on Sept 17 to explore opportunities for collaboration.
During the visit, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on inter-university cooperation.
Pan Shilong, assistant to the president of NUAA, welcomed the delegation and said China and Italy share research interests in engineering and advanced manufacturing. He saidthat the two universities are both deeply engaged in engineering and technology and are well positioned to deepen cooperation.
Sapora said Politecnico di Torino values cooperation with Chinese universities and has established the China Engineering Center to coordinate its education, research and technology transfer work with China. He praised NUAA's strengths in aerospace and mechanical engineering and said he hoped the two universities would expand their cooperation.
In their discussions, the two sides reached a preliminary consensus on talent cultivation, collaborative research and academic platform development.
